Welcome to Brentwood Cricket Club

Based just a short distance from the centre of Brentwood, our club proudly competes at the very top of amateur cricket in England. Our First XI play in the Hamro Essex League Premier Division, the highest level of club cricket in the country. Established in 1881, the club has a proud and distinguished history, maintaining a strong and lasting connection with Essex County Cricket Club. County and representative matches have been hosted on our ground for over 140 years, showcasing some of the finest talent in the game. Among the many players to have worn our colours are several England internationals, including Sky Sports commentator Nick Knight and Gavin Hamilton. We take great pride in seeing our own players progress to the professional ranks, with two current club members, Benny Allison and Will Buttleman, representing Essex at first-team level. Benny continues his professional career with Worcestershire, further adding to our legacy of player development. Over the years, we’ve also welcomed an impressive list of international players. Australians Adam Zampa and Chris Green, West Indies stars Shane Shillingford, Daren Sammy, and Jason Holder, and Indian ODI player Hrishikesh Kanitkar have all featured for us. Among our most successful overseas contributors, Nick Winter and Jordan Silk stand out for their exceptional impact on the club’s recent achievements. Our proudest moment came in 2024, when we lifted the ECB National Cup, the pinnacle of club cricket in England and Wales, adding to our four Essex Premier League titles secured since 2009.
